Friends, I officially filed to run for reelection as Mayor of Del Rio it would be my honor to continue serving you.
My name is Al Arreola. I’m a Del Rio guy. Raised here, worked here, and served here. I came to the U.S. as a kid in 1967, graduated from Del Rio High, and I’ve spent my life learning what matters to working families: stability, respect, and a community that feels proud of itself. I’ve served on our School District Board as President, as your City Councilman for District 2, a board member on the hospital board, because I believe leadership is what you do, not what you say. As Mayor, my commitment is simple: Del Rio first. Listen hard. Work honestly. Bring people together. And keep moving our city forward with steady, practical progress.
Del Rio First
Listen Hard
Work Honestly
Build Community
Del Rio Made. Del Rio Proud.
Border security is taken seriously in Del Rio, with strong coordination between local, state, and federal partners. As a result, the community has not experienced major incidents of over-immigration, allowing Del Rio to remain safe, stable, and focused on everyday quality of life.
More jobs. More opportunity. A stronger Del Rio. Together, we’ve delivered growth you can see across every corner of our community.
Street maintenance is about safety and pride. After tackling more than a decade of neglect, we’re making long overdue investments in our streets and staying focused on keeping them maintained. This work is and will always be a priority.
Improving water and sewer infrastructure is essential to avoid costly state fines and protect public health. The focus is on making needed upgrades while responsibly exploring funding options so the burden does not fall heavily on local ratepayers.
San Felipe Creek is a defining asset for Del Rio, and addressing years of neglect is key to restoring its full potential. By investing in improvements and eradicating invasive carrizo cane, the creek can be protected, revitalized, and enjoyed as a true community treasure.
